The purpose of the PADI Coral Reefs Monitoring Survey Specialty Diver Course is to facilitate the assessment of the status of coral reef communities and their associated flora and fauna in a repeatable and relatively inexpensive manner. Also to help managers of coral reefs select appropriate ecological monitoring programs, protocols, and methods for your coral reef management needs and advice on monitoring, especially: how monitoring can help management; how to choose the best methods to suit your need; and the advantage and disadvantage of monitoring methods.
The goals of Coral Reefs Monitoring Survey training are:
Definitions for coral reefs monitoring and surveys.
Identify threats, and what to monitor on coral reefs.
Understand the importance of monitoring that can help coral reefs.
Determine the suitable type of methods to use for coral reefs monitoring and survey.
